Leather is the basic product on which all our work is based.

The Care needs every leather product are individualThey depend on how the leather was produced, how it is processed, what it is used for, how old it is, and last but not least, how intensively it is used, i.e., exposed to wear and tear and environmental influences.

In the field of bridles, leather greases are primarily used, for example, those based on petroleum jelly or animal fats. They have a hydrophobic (water-repellent) and naturally conditioning effect, but are only suitable for finished smooth leathers, as they leave stains and residues that cannot be removed from open-pored leathers (suede, aniline leather). Their consistency ranges from viscous to creamy, depending on the ambient temperature. Due to their strong conditioning properties, leather greases are more suitable for leathers subject to heavy use and for outdoor applications.

When it comes to saturating and impregnating hardened and dried-out leather with conditioning agents, liquid leather oil is the best choice. Again, only coated leathers are suitable for this treatment; open-pore leathers are not. However, it should not be applied too frequently, as the seams can also become saturated with leather oil and become porous.
Saddle soap and saddle soap spray
Saddle soap is a soap or spray historically used for cleaning saddles, straps, and similar items. It is available commercially in both liquid and solid forms.
Conditioner
Leather balms are often marketed as care products for coated smooth leathers, made with resins and waxes, such as beeswax. Their primary function is to create a water- and dirt-repellent coating. Resin- or wax-based products mainly serve as waterproofing agents. Therefore, these products are more suitable for exterior leather. The pore-sealing effect of resins and waxes, their ability to be buffed back to a shine, and especially the creaking effect of beeswax make them ideal for the care of bridles and saddles.
