Product characteristics and guarantee
With all leathers it must be taken into account that it is always a natural product, which is why minor scars, tick bites and the like may be present.
The animals have lived in different conditions, so no two skins are alike.
This results in structural and colour deviations typical of the goods, as well as growth characteristics that are natural.
Natural characteristics are often equated with leather defects or flaws. Natural characteristics do not reduce the quality of use of the product – neither its tensile strength or tear resistance nor its other load capacity.
They make every saddle unique. During use, the colour of heavily used areas, e.g. the seat or knee rolls, may wear off.
As a general rule, slight differences in colour can occur with all natural materials. However, these do not constitute grounds for complaint!
We draw the line where the usability of the leather or the product made of it is objectively impaired. This means that if a leather product has holes or open cracks in the leather, this represents a product defect.
Leather has its own smell, depending on the tanning, colouring or surface treatment.
Enthusiasts like the smell, which diminishes over time.
Waves and wrinkles occur naturally over time.
Body heat and moisture cause the leather to expand and, depending on the thickness, softness and type of leather, this results in smaller or larger waves and wrinkles.
These characteristics are caused by use and have no effect on the life, quality or function of the saddle.
Light, especially sunlight, can cause leather to fade.
Heat and heating can cause leather to dry out and become brittle.
Therefore, direct exposure to sunlight should be avoided, as well as permanent proximity to heating sources.
In addition, sufficient humidity and adequate care should be provided.
