Product-specific characteristics and warranty
It should be taken into account that all leathers are natural products, which is why minor scars, tick bites and similar marks may be present.
The animals lived under different conditions, therefore no two skins are alike.
This results in typical product variations in structure and color, as well as growth characteristics that are naturally occurring.
Natural characteristics are often equated with leather defects or flaws. However, these characteristics do not diminish the product's usability – neither its tensile or tear strength nor its other durability.
They make each saddle truly unique. During use, color abrasion may occur in high-wear areas, such as the seat or knee rolls.
As a general rule, slight color variations can occur with all natural materials. However, these do not constitute grounds for a complaint!
We draw the line where the usability of the leather or the product made from it is objectively impaired. That is to say, if a leather goods have holes or open tears in the leather, this constitutes a product defect.
Leather has its own smell, depending on the tanning, dyeing, or surface treatment.
Connoisseurs like the smell, which diminishes over time.
Waves and wrinkles develop naturally over time.
Body heat and moisture cause the leather to expand, and depending on the thickness, softness and type of leather, this creates smaller or larger waves and wrinkles.
These characteristics have developed through use and do not affect the lifespan, quality or function of the saddle.
Light, especially sunlight, can cause leather to fade.
Heat, including heating, can cause leather to dry out and become brittle.
Direct sunlight and prolonged proximity to heat sources should therefore be avoided.
In addition, sufficient humidity and adequate care should be ensured.
